Milestones
Parties, appointments and the special days you're counting down to — each with a horizon line that wakes up 30 days out, a sun that travels toward the day, and a printable calendar you can cross off with a pen.
The idea
Milestones is where the dated things live: the wedding, the dentist, the trip, the deadline that's real. Anything you're counting down to gets a name and a date — and from then on, the page answers the only question that matters about it: how far away is it?
Distant events wait quietly. Only when one comes within 30 days does its countdown wake up and start pulling your attention toward it — urgency arrives when it's useful, not before.
Unlike Mood or Sleep, Milestones isn't logged on the Log page. You add and edit events directly on the Milestones page, using the add bar and the events table.
Adding and editing events
Tap + New event, pick the date, name it and add. Every event sits in a plain table — Date, Event, Days Away — and tapping an event's name opens the edit dialog to rename or delete it.
Upcoming & Recent
Below the table, each event gets a card built around a countdown. The headline is TODAY on the day itself, N days away before it, and N days ago once it's behind you — so recent events linger a little rather than vanishing at midnight.
If you create the same event on consecutive days — a three-day festival, a week away — the cards fold those days into a single event with a date range instead of repeating themselves.
The countdown horizon
Each card carries a horizon line — a 30-day approach bar ticked 30d / 20d / 10d / today:
- It wakes up 30 days before the event. From that point on, a warm sun dot travels along the line as the day approaches, the trail filling behind it.
- On the day itself, the sun pulses at the end of the line.
- Once the event has passed, it settles dim — full, quiet, done.
- Further than 30 days out, it waits. The sun parks at the start with a small footnote — starts in N days — and no countdown runs yet.
The Full Year spine
At the bottom of the page, the whole year compresses into twelve rows, January to December — one line per month, with a dot marking each event at its exact day. It's the year at a glance: where the busy stretches are, and where the quiet ones.
The countdown print sheet
Future events carry a small print button. Tap it and Nortefy builds a printable cross-off calendar for that event and opens your browser's print dialog — print it on paper, or choose Save as PDF.
- The sheet shows month calendars from today through the event, with one instruction at the top: Cross off one square at the end of each day. The event day is starred.
- Squares cover at most the final 90 days, so even a distant milestone fits on one page. If the event is further out than that, a lead-up note tells you the date to start crossing off — just reprint the sheet once the event enters range.
Milestones is scoped to your working year — the table, the cards and the year spine only show events dated inside the selected year. To plan something in next year's calendar, switch your working year first.
